Can I install IOS 8.0 on a PIX 506E

PIX 506E w/512mb RAM, 8MB Flash. Do I have what I need? Thanks.

    Sorry. 7.x and higher will never be supported on the 506 or 501 platforms.

    Are we talking not supported as in "Cisco didn't test it", or not supported as in "No way in hell can this be done no matter HOW smart you are"?  Thank you.

    Can't be done. It simply will not install. The conversion process of the upgrade checks the hardware platform and will not convert the flash memory to the new format.
    The file system itself is vastly different. Compare

    >PIX 506E w/512mb RAM
    506e only has 32MB RAM and is not expandable

    Hardware:   PIX-506E, 32 MB RAM, CPU Pentium II 300 MHz
    Flash E28F640J3 @ 0x300, 8MB
    BIOS Flash AM29F400B @ 0xfffd8000, 32KB
