Trying to set up the initial configuration of the ASA 5505

I just purchased a new Cisco ASA 5505. I can connect to the firewall via the command line interface. However, I cannot connect to the firewall via HTTP through ethernet. It says page cannot be displayed.
I have an ethernet cable running from a laptop to the firewall (Port 0). I've changed my default gateway on the laptop to the same IP address of the firewall (192.168.1.1). I still can't connect over HTTP. I'm almost feeling foolish because this should not be very difficult. Yet it is causing me grief. I would prefer setting this firewall up over a web interface as compared to using the command line interface since I haven't fluently used any cisco commands in about 3 years.
Any help is much appreciated!

Yes I've tried that. I've also tried http://192.168.1.1 with no luck.

I figured it out. I was trying to connect to port 0 on the firewall. That is set aside for vlan 2 that uses a different ip address. I switched to port 1 and now I can connect just fine. It's weird but it worked.
