vmware tools not installed

i have created a vm from a phisical machine and then opened it in vmware server and when I click ctrl alt del it ctrl alt del the whole machine i am tryingto logon and it will not let me, also in teh bottom left it says vm tools not instaleld. I downloaed vm tool sand extracted them but now waht?

use <ctrl><alt><insert> instead of <ctrl><alt><delete>

about the "vm tools not installed", you simply go to the vm ware tools menu, and choose "install vm ware tools", and follow the steps.

thank you that worked real quick question when i logeed into the machine it said windows had to be vailidated I made this vm from a phisical machine on our network?

no i am sorry. what do i need to do after a sucessful conversion to make the virtual server the real server and teh phisicla one not the real one meaning to complete the project

just shut off the physical one, and power on the virtual one.

now, of course, you need to switch on the virtual one before in a dedicated subnet to test it, and validate it...
