alternate envelope printer in MS Word 2007?

In MS Word 2007 is there still no way to designate an alternate printer for labels and/or envelopes? It just grabs the default printer and prints to it with no option to change any settings.

The print dialog doesn't appear at during that process.  However you can "fix" this by choosing File -> Print and choosing the printer you want to use from the list.  The option to Close will appear at the bottom and this will in effect change the default printer (actually just the program's default or current printer).  This will allow you to use other printers during the envelope printing process.

Let me know if you have a question or need more info.

OK. Thanks for the tip. It's too bad Word doesn't have that option and that it has to be a workaround but it does work.

I thought that maybe after selecting the printer to use, if I saved the document as a template, it would keep the printer setting. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to save the printer to be used with the document. I'm new to Word and my other word processor does that so... too bad, again.

Yeah, Word definitely has its own quirks.  That one bugs me a bit everytime I use it.  Oh well, what are you gonna do?? :)

I'm glad I could help.  Thanks for the grade, the points and the fun question.
