The laptop has no display either in the LCD or if Inserted a monitor.

The laptop has no display either in the LCD or if Inserted a monitor.

When I power on the laptop I can see that the laptop powers up for a second then shuts up then after a few seconds again it powers on again but no display in the laptop.

I tried to listen if the hdd spins... I can hear the hdd spin but after a few seconds the hdd stops spinning then start spinning again...

This is the first time I troubleshoot a laptop, so please have patience.

If you have questions, or if there is a certain part that is unclear, please let me know.

I am counting on you guys...

Jack

PS.
The Laptop is NEC and has a processor is Pentium m.

Hi there,

Did you spill anything on the laptop at all or did it fall?
Most importantly is it still under warranty?

This can often be caused by bad or badly seated RAM. Take out your RAM and reseat the Modules. Try with only one module at a time.

Then remove everything you can and try to start it with minimum hardware. Remove the battery. If without battery nothing starts at all, your powersupply is bad or possibly the poweradapter where the supply gets plugged in may be badly soldered.

Rindi,

I tried that already, I remove the battery, still not work. I check the adapter using a tester, adapter is fine.

DR-4N,

I don`t hear any beeps... All I hear is a something spinning inside...

ooppss... forget to mention I hear one `tik` sound when I power on the laptop.

I think you have a problem with your VGA chip not the LCD monitor, what type of laptop do u have

Then, if you are savvy enough, open the laptop up completely and check if any connections inside are loose. I'd also remove the heatsink from the CPU, clean it thoroughly, make sure the CPU is fitted properly, add a very small amount of thermal transfer paste and reattach the heatsink. If all that doesn't help you'll probably have to change the mainboard or the charging unit if that is separate to the mainboard. Either may be more expensive than getting a new PC.
