How to extract data from a FileMaker Pro .GPS file

I want to extract some information from a FileMaker Pro .gps file. This is a small job for a client and it's really not worth me buying FileMaker Pro to do this.

I looked at MS Access, that doesn't import those type of files. I do have MS SQL (a trial version with a few months left on the trial still) but I suspect that doesn't do it either.

Does anyone know of some simple cheap (or free) utility that could be used on a one time basis to extract needed data from such a file?

I'm working on a Windows computer but if needed could probably get a favor to have access to an apple computer.

These files are being generated by an application written in FileMaker Pro but since I can see the data with a simple hex editor I am assuming that the files have not been encripted or locked from going into them directly.

Much appreciated.

you can use the filemaker v9 trial available on filemaker.com site, 30 days, no limit.
but no idea what those .gps files are... are they files stored in media fields maybe?
or you can post the filemaker file, we'll see what's inside and let you know what to do
