Can WSUS be run across 2 networks?

We have a 192.168.x.x network and a 200.2.x.x network on a single site with approx 350 hosts spread over both.

I've installed WSUS on a server on the 200 network and set the WSUS group policy at the domain level in active directory so it applies to all hosts. However, when I check under computers in the management console, it only 'sees' hosts in the 200 network - it hasn't picked up any 192.168.x.x machines. We thought perhaps altering the default gateway in the IP config for the 192 machines to the 200.2.x.x DG address but still not working.

Is this a DNS issue perhaps? Or is it simply that you can't run WSUS across 2 networks and requires a separate WSUS installation on a server in the 192.168 network?

Any thoughts on this much appreciated

Cheers

you can run it across as many as you like, mine runs across about 80 at the moment, you just have to make sure you can resolve the wsus server from the clients

ASKER

OK, so it's more like a DNS issue then?
