Hide SSN in layout

Is there an easy way to hide the ssn field to make it visible to only one user.  We don't have passwords setup for all the databases, and would prefer to add a layout that only one user can see, without having to setup passwords for all 10 users.

Thanks,
Kathy

you can prompt for a passwd in a script which leads to the given layout. this script would use a custom dialog box with the passwd feature on (to mask with * data entry). of course you must compare it with a password stored in  a global field for instance, or directly in the script. all admins will know that passwd by editing the script, but apart from them, it is safe.

you can also link it to a given machine using its mac address...

Thank you lesouef.  How would you link it to a certain mac address.  What script function would you use?

Get ( SystemNICAddress )
this returns the hardware mac address, but if yr machine has several cards, or ethernet + wifi, you'll get 2 adresses. if you disable one of them (case the wifi is on a usb port for instance) > the returned data is different, so may be worth to look for the embedded mac adress in the returned pattern to avoid this.

can also be used in privs sets. but if you have no passwd at all, what is the persmission level of all users?
