RRAS, IAS and Microsoft VPN server, why are RAS reservations in DHCP server?
here is the scenario, i have a windows 2003 server with 2 nics.
I installed RRAS and IAS on this machine.
Both machines have internal(but different) IP's on the nics 192.168.1.20 on nicA and 192.168.2.21 on nicB(this is the one configured as the external ip on the vpn server because i am doing natting with my firewall to this ip)
I have configured the IAS to use active directory with its authentication and a the vpn(nic-B) as a radius client
my question is on my dhcp server which is a completely different server(its on my domain controller) i am seeing a bunch of IP addresses being taken up by the unique id "RAS", the name is the name of the server for all the ip's. why is this happening?
please advise.
thank you
