XP client freezes when printing to a Windows 2003 print server

Two of our XP clients have complained numerous times about having to reboot their PC's after their PC's freeze when they print.  This problem started occurring after we upgraded their printer, and began pointing their PC's to a new print server.  We have about a dozen other people printing to different printers around the company and I have yet to hear a complaint from anyone.  To complicate things, this problem doesn't occur all the time, and to my knowledge, leaves no evidence in the event log as to why this is happening.  Perhaps I'm not looking in the right direction, but I'd like to have some sort of explanation before I rebuild their PC's.

    Hello cjb123,

A couple of possible causes come to mind.
First, on the server, right click on the printer, select properties, then the advanced tab.
Make sure "Start spooling after last page is spooled" is selected.
Also that "Print Spooled documents first" is ticked/checked.

Second I'd completely removed and re-installed the printer on the client.

Third is there a possibility a client might be printing directly to the printer? If so it might cause this behaviour depending on the printer.

A stab in the dark, but if you've not done them, I'd check them.

I selected "Start spooling after last page is spooled" and so far so good, we'll continue to monitor the situation - I'll update this if necessary.  Thanks!!
