Having issue with installation of new DSL WIC in 1841

I have a Cisco 1841 Router currently communicating a video feed through a point-to-point t1 line.  We would like to initiate another video feed from a seperate source, using DSL and a VPN.  I have purchased a DSL WIC to add to the extra interface port in the router.  However, when I install the WIC into the router I can not see it as an interface in the config.  The WIC shows all indicator lights as a solid green, even when nothing is plugged into it.  I don't think that all the lights should remain lit when nothing is plugged into the interface, and of course, I have no way to configure the interface since it does not show in the config.  I have tried two seperate cards and two seperate routers with the same results.  This leads me to believe that I am missing a step necessary to initialize the card when I install it.  Any information would be helpful.  Thanks.

You need to check your IOS version is correct to handle the extra WIC.

I'll check IOS, can you do a "sh ver" and post - should show up in there. And do you post the model number from the packaging ?

From Cisco website :
Software Support
The 1-port HWICs are supported starting the 12.4(4)T and 2-port HWICs are supported starting the 12.4(6)T. All HWICs are supported on the Cisco 1841 ISR and the Cisco 2800 and 3800 series ISRs.
