ReportServerTempDB stores report cache information. When a report is set as a cached instance, there is no definite time when that report is executed. It depends on which process requests the report first. Once the report is executed, the intermediate format and data are stored in the ReportServerTempDB database. If this database were to fail, the cached information would be lost. But, since it is executed when a user views the report, there is no real loss of information.

why am i unable to backup the log file for reportserver in a maintenance plan.  usually it gives me the optoin to backup full, differential or log.  but for this database only full or differential. do log files grow in the db like other ones?

i'm just concerned of loosing subscription information since i have over 100 reports auto emailed.  don't feel like going threw a bunch of email to set it up again.
