A few WSUS updates failing

Greetings Experts!

I have a Windows 2003 server that is running as a member server in an AD domain.  This server is currently the WSUS server for our environment and through a GP, all of the clients check into this server for their updates.  The clients are running XP Pro and are in the same AD domain.

I noticed that the Office 2003 SP2 and Office 2003 SP3 fail to install on the clients although the clients can get every other XP update.  I haven't seen any errors in the event viewer on the WSUS server or on the hand full of clients.

Any ideas on how to get these SP's installed?

Did you try to update/ reinstall windows installer on those machines? It should take care of your problem.

You can also run msiexec command on you client with this switch msiexec /regserver.

This would be ok but it's on 200+ clients.  Is there a plan B?

Is there a plan B....

Yes, there is. Create and push a policy on GPO to re-install (uninstall/install) windows installer . Check this article for the steps (the midle of the page is for redeploy)

I haven't forgotten this post.  I was in the middle of setting up virtual pc's and wanted to wait until they were running so I could test it out on them.  Thanks for the patience.

Greetings.  Ok, does this uninstaller cause problems with other programs that are installed?

lnkevinCommented:
Not really. Some program install with .exe and some does with .msi
Problem may occur on the program that runs .msi
