Gridview column and row dividers

How can blank paddings be taken out completely and thin silver dividers be placed between column groups and rows in a gridview? Please kindly provide samples. Thanks.

try and search for themes and skins for gridview
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa479342.aspx

or try applying style as shown below

from http://www.jigar.net/howdoi/viewhtmlcontent197.aspx
<asp:GridView runat="server" ID="gridView"
                      CSSClass="tabulardata" CellSpacing="1"
                      GridLines="None"/>

<style type="text/css">
        TABLE.tabulardata {
              BACKGROUND-COLOR: #74aefa;
        }
        TABLE.tabulardata TR {
              BACKGROUND-COLOR: white;
        }
        TABLE.tabulardata TH {
              BACKGROUND-COLOR: blue;
              PADDING:4px;
        }
        TABLE.tabulardata TD {
              PADDING:4px;
        }
    </style>
