Will it effect my PC in any way if I change the SID? As in future software installations, problems, hardware issues etc or anything at all?
I am not using a network apart from my wired router connection for my broadband.

I will not effect anything except for your membership to a domain. Remove the system from the domain and then change the sid and then readd the system to the domain.

It shouldnt effect anything else on the system
