cannot connect to Call Pilot with default install


My client is using a Nortel Call Pilot and it was working fine.  I was called in to troubleshoot a connection issue where from the Administration Menu/ Call Center Connection, I cannot create a connection to the only Call Center.  The error message says "cannot establish a connection to the Call Center".  They give a few troubleshooting steps to try and we've confirmed that none of them are issues.  Is there some obvious out of the box thing I am unaware of to make this system work?  Should I be concerned that the ODBC connection the software creates does not test successfully from the ODBC test button?  Any help appreciated.

You've checked you E Lan & C lan conections and their IP address ?  
Ping your ODBC data base ACD server, does it return ok ?
