Network printer only prints the configuration page but doesn't print test page or any other document.

Hi Experts,

I have a Minolta Di352 printer/scanner/fax machine that I am trying to setup on a network. I have entered a static ip address/mask/dg and smtp server address. I added it to my print server and I am able to ping the address. When I add this printer to a workstation on the network and click finish , it prints a configuration page, but when I try to print a print test page or anything else it doesn't print at all , it just sits in the print queue withe the message error printing. I've setup network printers before but I'm having a hard time trying to figure this one out.

Are you using a Standard CTP/IP port to connect to the printer? If not, create one with the printer's IP address. If you did create one, try changing it from Raw to LPR. For the LPR queue name, try "raw", "print" or "PRINT"

Yes, I created a standard tcp/ip port. i'm going to change it from raw to LPR in a few minutes.

Hi hdhondt,

I vpned to my office network and made the changes to the printer and it looked like it worke! I printed out a couple of pages and they didn't stay in the queue. It acted like a normal print job and it moved out of the print queue as it should.

Thanks A lot!
