What is the difference between the Task Folder and the To-Do List/Bar in Outlook 2007.

I am trying to run Franklin Covey for MS Outlook V4 and want to store my tasks in the right place.

Someone indicated that the To-Do List is just a special view of the Task Folder. Is that true?

I really want to be able to set up a Prioritized Daily Task List and to manage the projects that I have, can Outlook 2007 be used as a Project Management tool?

    Hi There!

    The To-Do Bar in OL2007 is a reflection of your task list and your up-coming appointments, so a mix of tasks and appointments displayed in the same view as your inbox.

    You can use Outlook as a project management tool, but it can be quite difficult on it's own.

    There is a program that you could look at that allows you to manage your personal projects easily through Outlook, however, I'm not sure if there is a version for 2007.  I know it works well on OL2003.  Visit for more info.

    What folders does it look in for Tasks and Appts.

    It monitors any task, sub-folder of tasks (as long as it contains task items) and any upcoming appointments in your calendar.  These are all in YOUR mailbox, not others.  If you want things to be delegated to other people, but you keep track of the tasks, make sure you use the DELEGATE function in OL.  This way, the task will be assigned to the other person, but will be monitored on your task list.
