Outlook Express with Exchange 2003 POP3 virtual server - username/password rejected

We are using Exchange 2003 and have a virtual pop3 server configured which one user has been using with Outlook Express to handle their email for some time now.

The issue is when we try to add a second user, modelled on the first, it does not work.  The second user can send email ok but when they try to receive email they keep getting asked for their username and password and eventually get the following error message:
"There was a problem logging onto your mail server. Your Password was rejected. Account: '', Server: '', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password.', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92"

Suggestions please?

If the user's mailbox alias is different to their account name, you need to specify the user name in the form:

We did find that the username and the alias were different on the one that didn't work. We did as you said and it worked.  Cheers.
