Cisco CME Unable to perform full consultation transfer on Cisco 7912

Hello,
Im having problems getting some cisco IP phones to perform a consultative trasnfer , specifically 7912's the multi button phones seem to work fine, just not the 7912. When i call in fro the PSTN and take the call on a 7912 and then transfer to another internal extension it always does a blind transfer rather than a consult with the internal extension first.

Im running Cisco CME 4.1

I believe the overliad extensions are the cause of the problem. First I suggest you try changing from overliad extension to a standard extension as follows:

ephone  6
 mac-address 0015.FA48.9BD6
 ephone-template 1
 username "xxxxxxx" password xxxxxx
 paging-dn 20
 type 7912
 button  1:6

now try dialing extension 1013 and ensure you can do a consult transfer. If you can then it because of the overliad extensions, if you cannot then it may the phone firmware which needs to be changed or the router IOS itself, its common to find bugs!!

Ok so if you find out its the first option and caused of overliad exetnsions, put the overliad extensions back in the config, and try putting in the following command:
ephone-dn 6
huntstop channel

Hope that solves it!

PS heres the discription of what the "huntstop channel" does:

Huntstop Channel
Only for dual-line ephone-dns in overlay set; keeps incoming calls from hunting to the second channel if the first channel is busy or does not answer.
"Reserves the second channel for outgoing calls, such as a consultation call to be placed during a call transfer attempt, or for conferencing

PS Also noticed that you do not have a 7912 phone load specified. CCME 4.1 has specific phone loads which is supports.... you can check on cisco.com > downloads > voice >CCME/SRST > CCME Compatibility Matrix > CCME 4.1 then it lists the phone loads (firmware) support by your version. Oh you will need a CCO login :)
