Is that the Wattage same as the old power Supply ?? Make sure the Wattage is same as the old power supply OR high enough to supply the power to the PC

If still cannot, Try remove all the unnecessary device (ex: PCI cards) and boot with a normal / basic setup ........ (without related / involved much devices) ....... If it can startup with no problems, try to add in 1 by 1 for the device until the problem occur again, then we will know what is causing the problem for that PC.

Did you figure out what the problem was? I am having the same issue and would love to know before spending a lot of time messing with the power supply!

If like that, I would suspect the capasitor in the motherboard having some problems ...... thus cannot functioning correctly .......  If your motherboard still under warranty, just send for warranty without needed pay any things ...... Good Luck !!!

Hello Prolitec,

I did some further troubleshooting and a defective switch was the source
>>> of the systems stops after 15 seconds
>>> and must be restart by depressing power button.

I replace the switch and contant power was restore to the system this
only eliminate the system not stopping after 15 seconds, but the core
issue  >>> not boot and loading os still not resolve.
I did some research on this model of ibm and as lauchangkwang concluded
defective capacitors was the common cry .

I am caught in bind because my next option was to replace the board but
according to your post.
>> we've replaced motherboard and power supply and neither helped our issue!
but before i move forward please examining the switch and if possible try
a replacement switch.
If this does not work then my only option is dump the system because the
written value of my ibm system is far less than a replacement board.

Regards
JOMO

The system will boot, but the fans don't run. They stop running about 15 seconds into boot up. The machine runs, but eventually it will just shut down, most likely from overheating. We tried replacing the power supply and the motherboard, and neither remedied the issue with the fans. So at the moment, while we can use the machine, we have to be prepared to it to spontaneously shut down. Our "quick fix" to extend the time that it stays on is to remove the side cover to allow for air to circulate so it doesn't overheat as fast.

Definitely is the over heating issue, you can try to borrow another fan and test whether the fan is functioning or not ...... if the fan is functioning, I think it will not spontaneously shut down again that cause for overheating ..... Hope this help .......

It's not one fan. It's all fans. If it was just one, we would have attempted a replacement.
