Corrupt PST File
I have a user with a 16 GB PST File. When the user accesses the PST file, the user is told that file is corrupt and cannot be used. At that point a checking screen appears trying to fix the PST file; however, after several hours, nothing occurs. What can I do to fix this PST file or access the data contained within the file?
Which version of Outlook are you using to open the file? If it's a really old one, like 2000, then it won't be able to open such a large file.

It is Outlook 2003.
16GB should be okay in OL2003. I would try one of the demos here:

I downloaded the application, but it did not work. I received a message stating "PowerControls is unable to process the contents of this file." Other suggestions or is the PST lost?
It sounds like the built-in scanpst.exe is unable to fix the file. There are some third-party tools that you might try, but there's no guarantee they'll work, either. Here are some examples:

do a search for 'pst recovery', and see what takes your fancy.

Thanks. I tried the PSTRECOVERY.NET item and it ran for more than 24 hours, to no avail. Any other suggestions?
