Using Wise to Install our application + run scripts

I have a few questions about packaging and in particular Wise Packaging Studio but also open to InstallShield.

As part of the package we would like some prerequisites checked in a simlar fashion to when you install SQL 2005 express it displays a list telling you if they have passed or failed.

Is this possible?

Next the package would need to run an SQL script to create an account within the SQLExpress database.

Next it would need to run another script to create the database giving the previously created user permssions

Is this possible, at present we run scripts to do the above but we have no error checking so if it fails to do any of the above it continues and then we have all sorts of problems, need some kind of eror checking ability that reports an error back and gives us the option to ignore or abort.

Then it would copy/install the actual files and registry entries.

lastly the Install would need to prompt you for a location of some txt files, display them in the install so you can confirm they are correct and import them into the SQL Database

We would also like the installer to create a Windows Dialup SSL VPN connection after it has registered the SSL Dll's above (which register the SSL VPN software)

Is all the above possible

All of what you are asking is possible through InstallShield. One slight exception to the order in which you presented it though. Your UI dialog prompt would be best within the UI sequence before the main execute actions occur such as running your sql script, etc...

Hope this helps.
