Is there a way to change the background color of Flash timeline layers?

Unfortunately, that is not possible yet. But it is a great idea, and would increase the possibility to categorize the layers in a more visual way than by using layer names.

I would advice you to send a mail to Adobe with this tip. Good luck! :D
