i am not using asp.net..asp pages are not working. though other pages runnign directly from the apache server on the same site are working.
this line in asp links to config string...where i provide user id and passowrd. that is oracke cannot be connected only from the asp page...what shoudl i do to debug..

Okey, sorry for misunderstanding...
But still looks like the security issue. the account using by an asp pages has not got a necessary
credential on oraclehome/ora92/network/a dmin/tnsli stener.con fig file.

how can i chekc that?

nothing changed on the server..but recently some changes have been done.what i know of is that
-Hard coded server port and network switch to 100Mb/Full-Duplex
-some updates to QoS.
i dont understand these lines...but this what has been changed

Are you sure you can connect the database other tools like sqlplus or toad?
