Looking for a File Splitting Tool for Large Exchange Files

I have a client with MS Exchange. I am doing a volume shadow backup copy each night. The problem is, even cleaning up mail boxes puts that file size at nearly 20GB. I need to back that file up off-site and my software service does not allow file sizes that exceed 4GB.

Thus, I am looking for a file splitting tool that can split a file automatically on a schedule.

Any ideas are appreciated.

thanks, joe

    Hello pcswat,

What version of Exchange? if you have exchange enterprise then simply create new mail stores and move some mailbox's around to bring the store size down.

Also Look at an "Exchange Aware" backup solution - Exchange uses single instance storage, most backup struggles with that, use a backup solution thats designed for exchange like Backup Exec with the exchange agent or ARCServe 11.5 with the premium exchange agent, then you can do selective backups and keep the data under 4Gb

    If that fails, use 7z

It can split on size, 4g in your case.
