I have a Cisso VPN set up at  work. Several of the user are able to access the network remotely. I am not able to access the network from my home with the same client VPN setup. Not only am I not able to access the network at work but when I try to authenticate to the remote site my internet connection quits working. Any suggestions?

What is the error when it fails connecting.

Is it so that it connects to the network but you are not able to connect to any resource?

Try ipconfig/all from DOS.

If it shows the IP Pool of your work VPN along with your local home network details then you get connected and something else is a problem.

If the above is the case I would first suggest you to try and check if the both your home network and the work VPN are in the same subnet??? Again ipconfig/all is the command for this

No error. I could not connect to any resources on the local or remote network. Home network and VPN are not on the same subnet. Partial correction has been found. The VPN network connection is disabled on bootup. If I enable the connection before trying to connect to the VPN all works well. I have not seen this problem before. Usually the VPN network connection enables itself we I try to connect.

Any suggestions?

Assume it was all a network glitch. Every thin is working fine now and has been for a while.

Thanks for your input.
