POP3 connector disappears when we try to open

I have SBS 2003. When I try to go into the POP3 email management, it flashes
on the screen for a millisecond and then disappears. I can't get the window
to stay on.
Tried reinstaling the pop3 connector and POP3 folder gets installed in the data drive and not in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Windows Small Business Server\Networking.
Tried reinstalling the exchange and networking component of SBS2003. But still the networking component is not getting installed correctly. In the SBS logs, it shows an error and ask to reinstall the same.
Third party softwares are available in the server. (Trend micro, VNC,Spyser,HP backup software) Can we install the pop3 connector without unistalling any of these 3rd party softwares.

This is a problem caused by upgarding SBS2003 to Windows Server 2003 SP2.

Have you installed this patch?  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/921096  (Available via Windows update)

All latest Windows updates are done on the server.I'll check whether this update is available on the system.
Once we apply the patch, do I need to contunue setup on the destop? and reinstall the networking component. Why this is geting installed in the D drive instead of in the SBS/networking folder?
Also I believe that the pop3 connector is not installed correctly in the server becoz when I install the networking component, it is giving an error to reinstall the same in the SBS logs. Also in registry it is supposed to give a key like POP3 connector and that is also not there.. please help.. thanks

Where in your question was there any mention of setting up the desktop?

As mentioned earlier, networking component is not getting installed in the the server. Hence the "continue setup" icon still available on the desktop screen of the server.

Okay... I didn't understand that this was a brand new installation... you should NOT install any Windows Updates untill you have completely set up your server and finished all items on the To-Do List.

Therefore, I'd suggest that you reformat and reinstall at this point.

FYI --- if this is your first SBS installation, you should know that it's widely believed that it takes at least three times to do your first install correctly:  see http://sbsurl.com/3x for details.

Due to some reasons re-installation is not a possible at this point of time.
More information on this as follows as per the logs:

Failed to find (imbservice.exe) for registration
An eror occured while configuring the Microsoft Connector for POP3 Mailbox for POP3 Mailboxes.See C:\Program Files\Microsoft Integration\Windows Business Server 2003\Logs\Setup.log for details.Rerun Setup and retry installing the connector.

Planning to register the popconfigsnap.dll and imbreg.
Any other possibilities to solve this issue. POP3 folder got installed in the D drive.

Sometimes, installations do not succeed.  If you didn't plan for that possibility I'm sorry, but you should NOT have installed any of the Windows Updates until the server was completely configured (meaning all items on the To-Do List were completed).  Reinstallation may be your ONLY option if you want an operational machine.
