The alias "xxx" could not be opened, because the original item cannot be found
Ok, heres whats up.
I have a Mac OS X 10.4.10
I wanted to hook up a new external hard drive wirelessly through my Airport Extreme. The Mac guys said this would be simple to do. NOT.
This is what I'm doing now:
1. Click on the Finder
2. Choose Network.
3. Connect to the server with the external hard drive on it
4. It asks me to "Select the volumes to mount"
5. I choose "Iomega Hdd" - the external hard drive
6. It says, "The alias "xxx" could not be opened, because the original item cannot be found"
AAARRRGGHHH.
And I know its all connected because it is recognizing that the hard drive is there.

...no, I hadn't before you suggested it.
But I just did, and it does work. But does that mean when I plug it back into the Airport Wireless that it will work?
I got this hard drive for the specific purpose of making it wireless. thanks
