System Account

As I understand it, the local System account has full control on all files on the local NTFS volumes.  How about the System account in the domain?  Does it have full control to all files on NTFS volumes on domain controllers?

Not quite.  Since there are no local users/groups on domain controllers, any "local accounts" on domain controllers actually have the associated privileges to all DCs in the domain.  So if you grant a service SYSTEM privs on one DC, you have granted that priv on all DCs.
