I currently have a Windows 2003 server as my primary domain controller. I have added a new high spec server and have it set as my Windows 2003 backup domain controller. I have DNS configured and replicating and all my Active directory and Sysvol is replicating fine. What I would like to do is promote the backup to the primary and then remove the primary from the domain due to technical problems with this server. The network is not very large so I only need a single domain controller. Any advice on the procedure for doing this would be much appreciated.
