I have a large GIF on a web page that shows the operation of a piece of equipment but it's big and many of my prospective clients are on dial up. I want to show a static small JPG (or gif, don't really care) until the big GIF is loaded and then I want to substitute it.  I'm thinking probably some javascript could do it? Ideally cross browser compatible. My target audience are seniors. A lot of them are not exactly running the latest systems.
