SBS 2003 Server has died, can i restore the exchange db
Hi
I run an sbs 2003 at home, primarily for testing, but i started using it for emails, etc and it looks like the motherboard in the device has died. I haven't got a backup of the server.
I know the disks are ok as i have fired them up to get data off. Is there an easy way i can restore the exchange db to another exchange install to get all the outlook data off?

Sambee might be better to answer this but I thing you can dismount the information store, copy the edb file from the old server, mount the information store and start re-attaching malboxes.
can you not get another motherboard that is the same replace it and boot up should all be the same

do you mean an server 2003 repair install? will that keep all the data on the disk?
Yes. It is non-destructive.

I managed to put the drive into a complete different hardware and the server fired up, I couldn't believe it.
