Propagate primary smtp domain name change in Exchange 2003

How do I propagate a primary smtp email address change in Exchange 2003. I have two email domains that point to the Exchange server. Domain1.com and Domain2.com. I had one user using the incorrect email domain as the primary domain address. When I changed the primary address to the correct domain, i still show emails from that user's sending address using the wrong primary address. For example i had aagostino@domain1.com as the primary address. When she sends email it shows the sender as aagostino@domain1.com. I then changed the user's primary address to aagostino@domain2.com. When she sends an email, i still see the sender as aagostino@domain1.com. Shouldn't this change to aagostino@domain2.com.

ah, that would probably explain why i just found out that another user that was changed months ago is still showing the from address as the domain1.com address. I will check it and return back to you.

Patel, obviously I need to learn the nuances of creating multiple recipient policies and assigning users to it. But that's not going to happen right now on a clients production server. So Lee, I've unchecked the box "automatically update email addresses based on the recipient policy". Now how do I make those changes happen now and not wait till Exchange gets around to it?
Once you uncheck the box and then reset the AD object to use the address specified, you should be able to immediately receive email sent showing the address you want.

It will only take 15 mins or so.  Or you could pretend to change the policy (change a setting, then undo it) - it will then ask if you want to do the update immediately.
Sorry, I thought you said 'checked'.  If you uncheck, the change is immediate.

Thanks so much for the quick responses. I assigned the points based on what i actually did. Sorry Patel I didn't give you more because I certainly see that i need to learn how to use the recipient policy to help me with this in the future as I have a bunch of clients that use multiple email domains. Weareit, thanks too.
Actually learning to use recipient policies should be one of your first goals.

Recipient policies allow for you to do multiple things such as:
Assing additional SMTP alias addresses
Build customized SMTP alias addresses
etc. etc.
