Affordable Digital camera which can be remotely controlled by a computer

I need a digital camera to take some pictures (i need 4+ MegaPixels, so a webcam is not an anser) but i need the computer to be able to do so, so far, i found that Olympus and Canon both have digital cameras that can be used with a SDK that they provide, but this works only for the professional (and expensive) cameras. Also, I asked Canon to give me thier sdk but have not received answer, so I was wondering if any of you know of some digital camera that isn't that expensive and can be controlled by the computer (with an sdk or something that I can embbed into my software) I would appreciate your answers

Dermofit,

By controlled by computer, do you mean snap a photo, or do you mean able to change settings?

Cheers,

I'm even sure you'll need to work with an SDK to get that functionality...

I recently bought a Casio Exlim EX7 series camera... it came with TWAIN drivers, so that when the camera is connected via the USB cable, it automatically shows up as an imaging source.  So, I'd think it'd be trivial to write a program that used TWAIN to capture an image (although, I've never done that!)

ASKER

By controlled by the computer, i mean to take the pictures. Ideally, i'd like to be able to change the settings / zoom, etc.. but its not mandatory
