Outlook contacts view broken

I have one user who cannot view outlook contacts.  When clicking on the Contacts button in the Nav bar her calendar appears or her inbox if that was the last thing she was viewing.  We use Outlook 2003 Sp2

The top portion of the nav bar when contacts is selected shows current view customization options for either the calendar or mail view whichever was viewed last.

If she right clicks the contacts button and selects open in new window Outlook opens a new window displaying contacts.

Is there any way to get this restored to its usual functionality?

Hello DerekSchauland,

If you want to return the view to its default view, run a command line to reset the views.  Go to Start > Run and type outlook /cleanviews

and hit OK to apply. Occasionally you'll need to use the full path to Outlook, so the command line looks like:

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11\Outlook.exe " /cleanviews

Hope this helps!

Tried the cleanviews switch as suggested and it did not correct the issue...

I thought that would get it corrected... hmmm
Did you restart Outlook after running the command?
yeah twice and got no where
Also tried detect and repair and the result is the same
This morning I tried removing and readding the mail profile and the result remains the same
Instead of readding the profile, create a new Outlook profile. The old one is corrupt.
wouldnt deleting a profile from outlook and adding another profile regardless of profile name be the same thing?
