Have to e-mail addresses. How to notify every sender that one off them is to be deleted soon?
My customer have Exchange 2003 and two email domains. some users have email addresses for both domains. mydomain1.com and mydomain2.com
We are going to close mydomain2.com
When somebody (known or unknow people) sends to mydomain2.com we want the mail to be delivered but would like to send an answer that in the future they need to send to mydomain1.com instead.
How can we do that in a smart way?

Some ISPs provide something like a "control panel" for you to administer your external mailbox, and from there you can do auto-responder and email forwarding. There are pros and cons; you normally need to set the auto-responder for every user who has a mydomain2 address so if you have large number of user then this may not be a good idea. The good thing about this is email sent to mydomain2 will be forwarded automatically to mydomain1 before reaching your server, thus you can remove your mydomain2 accounts on your server.
Another way is to do this internally on Exchange or Outlook by setting up rules. But then you need to keep both mydomain1 and mydomain2 accounts thus increase administrative overheads.
