Deleted & moved items reappear on user's desktop

I have a user here who's having a very strange and weird issue.

The user has a roaming profile, and it's been verify that the profile is stored in one location on the server when she logs off. There is a local copy of the profile as well.

The problem is this, from time to time, the user logs off and does not shutdown the machine. But when she comes in the morning the machine is powered off. This is all random and does not happen consistently.

When she turns it back on and logs in she finds old ( a week minimum) deleted or moved files on her desktop again.

Now there may be a power issue in the room's outlet causing the machine to shutdown at nights and i can deal with this but it does not explain how deleted or moved files from a week ago is still showing up on her desktop after she moves them to another location.

Is there any place in windows that saves a temp copy of her profile besides documents and settings?

would a power outage cause system restore to run? I mean what would trigger a system restore all of the sudden?

I check and they are but the isssue is that if she wasn't her desktop was still correct yesterday and today she's got old docs on her desktop when she logs in.

This is the best money I have ever spent. I cannot not tell you how many times these folks have saved my bacon. I learn so much from the contributors.
