Get Shockwave Flash Object in to Excel/PowerPoint
Just a few days back I managed to get the Shockwave Flash Object Working for XP machine.
I notice its all messed up again. The Shockwave Flash Object has disappeared from the drop down menu when inserting a flash object.
I uninstalled shockwave player and flash player using the uninstaller program from the Adobe site. Then I upgraded my IE to IE7. Reinstalled the shockwave player and flash player without any problems.
Have done this process a couple of time. Just not able to see the shockwave flash object in Excel nor Powerpoint.
What am I doing wrong ?

What happens if you click Install, Object, Create from File and then choose a Flash file?

GlennaShaw,
>What happens if you click Install, Object, Create from File and then choose a Flash file?
When I do that in Excel the file is embedded in the worksheet. with the description =EMBED("Package","").
It cant play as a flash file.
I tired to change the properties of embedded file with out any success.
Does that mean the shockwave player installed is not OK.
I have yet to install the shockwave player plug in for Firefox
What else could I do..would reinstall of Office would be of any help ?
Thanks

Could it be possible for you to upload a simple PPP or Excel file with flash embedded in. Thou my IE browser can play the flash files. I also want to test if the PPP and or Excel with flash embedded can play on my machine.
Thank you.

Are these the steps you're trying for PowerPoint?

Also. take into account the differences between linking files and embedding files.
BTW, I don't think you can play Flash files in Excel, but that's not my area of expertise. Sorry.

Thanks GlennaShaw.
I managed to play your file on my PC.
Experiment with your power point file and I realized that there is a difference on my PC in Power Point ..when I :-
Go to Insert >> Object
The drop down list that appear does not have the shockwave flash object.
and
When I go to View >> Toolbar >> Control Box >> ( hamme& axe)Toolbox.
The drop down shows the Shockwave Flash Object.
Glad that I am able to insert the flash objects both in PowerPoint and Excel by the same approach.
Thank you once again for you time.
