Problem with Offline files in Windows Vista
Hi, I have an issue with Offline Files in Vista that should be straight forward to resolve but I can not find the solution. The Server is SBS 2003, the client is Vista Business. I have Oplock disabled on the Server. There are two folders in a share that are available offline. They sync fine when the device is connected to the LAN and when offline the files are available as expected. The issue is that when I connect over a VPN connection I can not set the offline file status to online. I have gone with the local policy admin templates/network/offline files and made changes to two values.
Configure Slow link mode , I enabled this
path="\\servername\*" value="Latency=50"
Ping response is around 300ms through the VPN. I used a wildcard as I want the same value to apply to anything from this particular Server.
Configure Slow link speed
I enabled this and experimented with different Values.
When I am connected over the VPN I can connect to Exchange without issue, I can ping the Server so resolution and connectivity is not the issue I believe.
The answer will probably be obviously simple but I have searched many blogs and can not see the answer.
