Hi I saw a tool called policymaker to configure gpo are there any other free tools like this?
And, I added a computer to my domain and when I did so, all of the local applications no longer appear in the start menu, the start menu has basically nothing just the basic Start-up folder and Accessories with IE and a few other things...where did all the other programs that were install on the local computer go? I know they are still there because outlook appears in the common programs list, but they were removed from start menu.
thanks.

Regarding tools like Policymaker.. I mostly use ADModify.Net. Its an excellent tool (GUI) for bulk operations.
Have a look at following:

Is there anyway to configure the profile on a domain level?
it depends on what you mean by the domain level :) you can use numerous toys with domain profiles, roaming profiles or mandatory GROUP or USER profiles which are all stored on the server, a good place to start and look at is

You will find all other profiles on following path:
C:\Documents and Settings
Double click on My Computer -> C: drive -> Documents and Settings
Hope this helps!
