xp continuous reboot

I have an old HP Pavillion 6746 pc with Windows XP home on it. It has 512 MB ram in it. It was working slow but okay the other day. Now when I start it up, it constantly reboots no matter if I select safe mode or last known good configuration or any of the other selections. Any ideas how I might be able to get to the desktop would be appreciated.

thanks

If there is no important data, I would do fresh installation that should help to resolve the issue. Or check the manual of system see if you can run recovery from receovery partition built-in system (during start up fress F10).

Have you recently installed new hardware?

Try running chkdsk  if you are unable to see the bsod try booting up into safe mode if possible.
