update definitions over network

I am using AVG free on my desktop and laptop (wireless network). Each day my desktop auto updates at a scheduled time.
When I select update on my laptop (which is not always turned on unlike my desktop) I have the choice to update via the internet or the network.
It would be great if the desktop d/l the update, applied it and left the update in a folder that my laptop could then pickup rather than 2 trips to the AVG update site.
Obviously I would need to share this folder on the desktop pc.
Is this possible? How?
Desktop = XP Pro
Laptop = Vista Business
AVG version = 7.5.503

Contact AVG. since this may not be an option in the free version.

I hope this helps !

I don't think AVF accept contact if you are running the free version.
The update dialogue box offers the option to update via the network or the internet.

After using the free version for a couple of years, I've started installing the paid version on my customers' computers.

You can save a good bit of money with multiple licenses for 2 years and you get a lot more flexibility with your configurations.

Read some details here: http://www4.grisoft.com/doc/products-avg-anti-virus/us/crp/2

I am not a fan of any 'suite' of products, but you may feel differently.
I've been running either AVG or AVAST for pure Anti-virus (now buying Pro version).
I also run SuperAntiSpyware and MS Defender for anti-spyware (pro on SuperAS, free for MS Defender).
I run the native Windows firewall only because of the conflicts that non-windows FW's seem to have (I do always install a Router w/firewall).

Good Luck,
