SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition missing database engine....

Hi,
I am unable to connect using remote connections.  I found an article which I believe will fix the problem:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/914277

However I cannot see any database engine to adjust remote connections, I can see the database engine when I log into the server.

When I installed it on my laptop I selected everything.  So where the heck is it?

Thanks!

Ok, the question isn't how to set the remote connection.   The article tells me how to do it.  The problem is I do not have a database engine to edit the remote connections.  Why isn't it visible or installed?  And how do I make it visible or install it?

Thanks
Im not sure what you asking but if it helps, Im sorry for not understanding your question...have you thought about the fact that Express editions are designed to only connect to local SQL database files.  Visual Web Developer Express can connect to an instance of a database due to the hosting scenario.

I am using the developer edition which is supposed to have the same capability as a full copy.  And the article you indicate mentions specifically Developers edition.

The question is how to make the database engine visible on the Surface area configuration tool.

Thanks!
Was this ever solved? I have the same issue on an old database and need to get this fixed.
