FIRST PART: I am using CDO 1.2.1 to logon a user mailbox, however am encountering an issue when the following condition is present:

1) I have two users with the same userID and mailboxname (Exchange Alias) in the same organization (AD forest), but in different domains.

For example, IN ad if I have domains DOM1 and DOM2
and In DOM1 I have user John Smith, with exchange alias jsmith and userID jsmith
and in DOM2 I have user Joe Smith, with  exchange alias jsmith and userID jsmith

I get an ambiguous user error in CDO.  I want the session.logon method to understand that I am looking for the jsmith that has a mailbox on the exchange server's domain.

So if I have an exchange server on DOM1 and I run the script, I want to somehow use session.logon with jsmith, such that JOHN SMITH's account is accessed, and not JOE SMITH.

As far as I can tell, trying to logon as jsmith@dom1.com, or COM1\jsmith don't work.

SECOND PART: Also, what happens if I have the AD account for JOHN SMITH in DOM2, but the mailbox residing on a server on DOM1?  does that pose any issues?

Any thoughts?

Thanks.
