Teamed NIC don't appear in Virtual Machines; NIC appear in Virtual have different name

I have 4 NIC (two on board and two PCI) teamed as two (Private and Public) on a physical derver (HP580 DL-64 bit) . OS is windows 2003 R2 64 bit version, installed Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 R2 64 bit. Created virtual machines. Now when I tring to add NIC, it shows only two in drop down menu and that too with different names, which I could not correspond to the NIC on physical server as these have differet names on physical box.
Example
On Physical Server
4 NIC (Two HP 370i  -- one each labelled as Private Pry and Public Pry) (another two HP 380t PCI -one each labelled as Private Sec and Public Sec). One each from the set is teamed and two teams are labelled as Private Team and Public teams. These are working on physical box without any issue.

Virtual server
When I am trying to add NIC on the virtual server, I have only two NIC's in drop down menu as below:
one with name "External network (HP 371i network adaptor" and second as "External (HP371i network adaptor #2).
Even though I have tried to installed both, it doesn't ping to any server.
Also I must know which one is which on the physical box as these are configured to talk to different ports on firewall.

Please help and thanks for your time

These are the two team that you setup on physical server. After you set the team up on your 4 NICs, your server will only see 2 teams as two NICs because it generate 2 virtual MAC addresses.

Also I must know which one is which on the physical box ....
To figure out which one is the public or private, you will have to look in the virtual MAC (teaming). On the physical server, type ipconfig /all and notice the MAC addresses (private or public) then do exactly the same on your virtual server to figure out the private or public.

Even though I have tried to installed both...
Did you set up IP address after you add these NICs? You CANNOT set the same IP as the physical server (avoid duplicated IP in the same network). These two NICs may be the two pub and priv team so you don't want to team them, either.

Thanks for comments:
1. If these two are the same as two teams on the physical box, then which nic on the virtual represemt which team on the physical (Since the names are different). Moreover on the virtual both the NIC shows as HP 371i ( I have two 317i and two 380t on physical)
2.On virtua when we add NIC it creates new static or dynamic MAC address which is different from the what is on the physical box. So the ipconfig /all doesnot help as the all the MAC addresses wil be different.
3.The IP addreses are all diffrent on each NIC. I am not teaming again these NIC's on Virtuals.

Thanks
Moreover on the virtual both the NIC shows as HP 371i ....

Sounds like your virtual server does not see the teams or the two 380t. HP NIC support teaming on virtual server so you can try to set up a team on this two virtual cards. If not, you need to set up an IP address on one of the card.
