it may not be a progress bar i am looking for.   i have a set of historical data, and a current data element.  what i want is to show what percentage the current data element is to the average of the historical data.  i want to do this in a graphical representation.  i was thinking that a "swing gauge" like you see on golf programs would be the ticket.   with a color gradiant going to from red at 0% to green at 100% and back to red at 115%.
the data would look like this
current data value     415

historical values 390,420,330,430

the average would be   392

so the "max" (the number at the extreeme end) would be 451
and the value would be 415.

this would be a value of 105% of the average so the gauge would be slightly above the green "sweet spot".

TIA
mark
