I want to do
UPDATE tbl  set a=1 where ID=$x ; UPDATE tbl set a=2 where ID=$y;  etc.

of course i can make multiple calls, but is there a way to compact these all into one call?
(I don't care about the return value).

the manual says multiple statements are not supported, but is there a connector of some sort that would shoe-horn this in reliably?

thanks
