Configuring a Netopia Router to work with a Watchguard Firebox Edge and SBS Server

I have a client with an SBS 2003 Server with one nic.  They have bellsouth DSL and are using a Netopia Router.  I want to install the Watchguard Router and this is the first time I have dones so.  I have several questions:

1.  Where does the watchguard box sit.  I guess my only option is Netopia Modem / Router --> Watchguard Firebox -->  Network Switch. Router cable plugs into one of the Watchguards wan ports and the cable into the switch comes from one of the lan ports.  Is my thinking correct?

2.  What do I need to configure on the Netopia modem/router for this to work.

3.  What do I need to configure on the Watchguard Router for this to work.

I have setup many watchguard boxes with cable modems and have had no problem.  I have never put one into place with another router.

1. this is correct. phone line--netopia--watchguard--switch.

2. The netopia should be configured in bridge mode. This means it just acts like a modem and does not control the connection, it also is invisible to the network and passes everything through it.

3. the watchguard would be configured with the ISP account details and it will control the connection to the netopia.

I just hate those Netopia Routers... Especially the Cayman Series... too many long nights learning way too much about routing that I will never need to know or want to know.

fair call. never used or seen one. And sounds like i dont want too.

Thanks Jeff, if I ever come across one i wont waste my time with it. ~:-)
The thing is they are combined Modem/Routers.  Generally a bad idea to begin with, especially when part of an SBS Network.
