asked on
Razor 2, DCC and Pyzor
Hi there,
We are using a Spam Guardian installed on our Plesk server.
Recently we started with the reconfiguration of our Spam Guardian and now we are wondering something.
In the settings tab you can see that it is possible to use 3 things called Razor2, DCC and Pyzor.
The question is how to use this and what does it do? We cannot seem to find out what the effect would be if we turn these options to on, they are currently of.
If you know what these options mean and what the effect is, please be so kind to reply to our question.
Thanks in advance,
CheckNL

And can I just hit the checkboxes and it will work?
I know for example that the RBL take some time since they do their thing on a DNS level.

DCC is similar but the checksum of every received message is stored in the database and therefore rather than it being a database of known spam it matches anything which has been sent to lots of people (hundreds) and therefore will also match mailing lists and newsletters. With DCC it is therefore important to also whitelist any newsletters you receive.
